BE KIND
Pink Shirt Day was in full support by the students and staff at Robina Baker. In our class, we read stories about kindness and a passage about how Pink Shirt Day began. They also filled in a kindness heart and made friendship bracelets.
SKATING
We enjoyed another week of skating activities. A HUGE thank you to the NAX coaches who came out to skate and to our wonderful parents for their help on and off the ice.
LANGUAGE ARTS
The students finished working on their penpal letters for their friends in Vancouver. They also worked on an illustration to send along with the package.
We worked on the second "All About Me" paragraph. The students picked their own topic to write about, making sure they included a topic sentence, details and a concluding sentence.
Together we read a short story called, "The Fishing Derby" and then the students answered some multiple choice questions to check their comprehension.
MATH
We moved onto learning how to subtract three-digit numbers with regrouping. They spent the week practicing their skills in a variety of ways.
SOCIAL
The students finished working on their Tunisia slideshows. This week they read about the environment and goods/services. Next week, they will present their information to the class.
